2010 "Focus on Wells County" Photography Contest

Winning photographs will be mounted, framed and displayed in the offices of The Wells County Foundation, Inc.  Photographs may also be used in the Foundation’s marketing materials.  Contest is open to photographers of any age (youth through adult).    All submissions must be made by 4 p.m. on November 1, 2010.

OFFICIAL RULES

WHO CAN ENTER?
Any Wells County resident – amateur or professional – of any age may enter.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking photographs of projects from the Wells County area which the Foundation has been involved with.  The photographs should be suitable for wall hanging and/or use in the Foundation’s marketing materials.  Please see category listing and note that some categories will require artistic representations.

IS THERE AN ENTRY FEE?
No.

WILL I NEED A MODEL RELEASE?
Yes.  Each photograph that includes identifiable subjects (people) must be accompanied by a Photo Subject Release Form.

WHAT ARE THE IMAGE RESOLUTION REQUIREMENTS?
Photographs must be submitted on a CD with accompanying entry form(s).  Minimum dpi of 300 is required in .jpg format only.  Both color and black and white photographs will be accepted.

CAN THE DIGITAL IMAGES BE ALTERED?
Digital manipulation is permitted.

DO I NEED TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY FORM?
Yes.  An entry form must be completed for each photograph entered into the contest.  The entry forms may be obtained at the Foundation office  or you may print them from the links at the right.  Limit of three entries per photographer.  Multiple entries must be from differing categories.

WHAT RIGHTS WILL THE WELLS COUNTY FOUNDATION RETAIN IN SUBMITTED PHOTOGRAPHS?
The Wells County Foundation, Inc. reserves the right to use the photographs in printed materials for the purpose of marketing the Foundation.  In addition, some photographs will be selected to hang in the offices of the Foundation.

Your entry to the contest constitutes your agreement to allow your photographs to be:
Published in the Foundation’s website
Used in print publications of the Foundation including, but not limited to, annual report, postcards, brochures, newsletters, marketing mailers, newspaper releases.

All entries must be free of claims and rights of third parties.

WHAT ARE THE AWARDS?
Prizes are non transferable and may not be redeemed for other substitutes.  In the event that a winner chooses not to accept the prize, they forfeit any and all claims to that prize, which will be dealt with according to the absolute discretion of The Wells County Foundation, Inc.  All awards will be made at the discretion of the judges.

The Foundation will award – up to – 10 - $25 cash prizes to those photographers whose entries are selected to be mounted and hung in the offices of the Foundation.  A reception will be held in November to display the photographs.
