By establishing a Scholarship Fund, you may specify that distributions be used to assist students who have excelled academically or those who have demonstrated financial need. You may also identify the areas of study, institutions and other criteria that the Fund will support. During the 2007 - 2008 academic year, individuals seeking funding for higher education from trade schools, technical schools, colleges or universities were granted scholarship dollars totaling more than $275,000 from the Wells County Foundation, Inc. ALL WELLS COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS Bluffton Corning Glassworkers Union Scholarship — Provides vocational grants to graduating high school seniors. Christian Care Retirement Community Scholarship — Provides scholarships to individuals entering into one of the following fields of study: medical, food preparation, recreational therapy (occupational or physical) or social services. Claude and Helen Decker Scholarship — Graduating senior from each of the three public high schools receives this scholarship. Can be used for vocational or publicly supported Indiana postsecondary institution. Ingeburg Clawson and Glenda Kaye Meyer Field of Interest Fund — Provides scholarships for those studying the field of geriatric medicine. Jill Dreyer Memorial Nursing Scholarship for Graduating Seniors — Provides scholarships to seniors who reside in Wells County or are employed at a healthcare facility within Wells County and have been accepted to a 2 or 4 year nursing program. K. Robert Ehrman Vocational Education Scholarship — Provides grants to graduating seniors from each of the high schools in Adams and Wells counties for individuals pursuing post-secondary vocational training. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program — Provides two annual scholarships for full tuition and required fees for four years. August and Eleanor Streater Mathematics and Science Scholarship — Awards scholarships for graduating high school seniors entering fields of Science or Mathematics. John H. & Cecile D. Waid Scholarship — Awards four-year, renewable scholarships to Wells County high school graduating seniors. Eileen B. Ward Memorial Scholarship — Awards a scholarship to a female graduating high school senior who is a member of the Bluffton First Presbyterian Church. Wells County Coon Hunters Club Scholarship — Graduating senior from each of the three public high schools receives this scholarship. Wells County Pilot Association, Inc. Scholarship — Provides scholarships to graduating seniors planning to enter an accredited postsecondary aviation-related field of study. Wells County Turnaround Fund — Awards scholarships to Wells County students who have turned their lives and behaviors around in school after exhibiting behavior or academic problems. BLUFFTON HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS P.A. Allen High School Alumni Association Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to a graduating Bluffton High School senior who will enroll in a state-supported, accredited Indiana school. Janet Baker Memorial Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to a Bluffton High School graduating senior planning to attend an accredited postsecondary institution. Bluffton Harrison Elementary PTO Scholarship — Provides annual scholarships to one male and one female Bluffton High School graduating senior. Recipients must have attended a Bluffton elementary school for a minimum of one year and plan to enroll in any accredited postsecondary program. Ronald E. DeWitt Memorial Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to a Bluffton High School graduating senior. Jean and Joe W. Gilliam Scholarship — Provides annual scholarship to Bluffton High School graduating senior planning to pursue an academic or vocational degree. Harry and Dorothy Lindstrand and Phoebe Lindstrand Hookanson Memorial Scholarship — Scholarship to a graduating Bluffton High School senior excelling in one or more Fine Arts disciplines. Margaret J. McPheeters and Nancy Sprague Williams Scholarship — Provides vocational scholarships to graduating Bluffton High School seniors. Lydia Murray Memorial Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to a graduating Bluffton High School Senior planning to pursue a career in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Music Therapy or Special Education. Painter-Webber Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to be awarded to a graduating Bluffton High School senior who has excelled in one or more areas within the social studies curriculum, enrolling in a four-year accredited postsecondary institution. Edwina Patton Memorial Scholarship — Provides a scholarship to a Bluffton High School graduating senior recognizing literary talent. James W. Stogdill Memorial Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to a graduating Bluffton High School senior excelling in business courses. Lou Ann C. Stogdill Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to a graduating Bluffton High School senior excelling in one or more Fine Arts disciplines. William J. Stogdill Memorial Scholarship — Provides an annual scholarship to a graduating Bluffton High School senior demonstrating outstanding achievement in all of the natural/physical science courses offered. Lewis A. Ward Memorial Scholarship — Given annually to a junior member of the Bluffton High school junior varsity boys basketball team. NORWELL HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS Mabel M. Wilson Archbold Scholarship — Provides scholarships to Norwell High School graduating seniors pursuing baccalaureate and/or post baccalaureate degrees in a professional field. Loren and Helen Decker Scholarship — Provides scholarships to high school graduates from Rock Creek Township in Wells and Huntington Counties. Daniel and Ruth Eichorn Scholarship — Provides scholarships to graduating Norwell High School seniors. SOUTHERN WELLS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS Bettye J. Minniear Memorial Scholarship — Provides annual scholarships to graduates of Southern Wells High School with priority given to demonstrated financial need. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE TO INDIVIDUALS OTHER THAN GRADUATING SENIORS Burl and Edith Bryan Fund Scholarships — Scholarships to adult students from Wells County. Ingeburg Clawson and Glenda Kaye Meyer Educational Grant — Grants awarded to students entering the field of geriatric medicine. The grants are available for individuals who are re-entering school or improving their training. K. Robert Ehrman Scholarship and Mary V. Reinhard Scholarship — Awards scholarships to individuals who have completed two years of full-time study and are pursuing a degree in elementary or secondary education, intending to enter the teaching profession. Jill Dreyer Memorial Nursing Scholarship — Scholarship to an adult student from Wells County or employed at a Wells County health care facility. Virginia Rowland Scholarship — Provides scholarships to individuals who have chosen to enter college for the first time. Recipients may be either full-time or part-time students. Edith Williamson Scholarship — Provides scholarships to full-time college sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students pursuing a career in Special Education, Speech and Hearing Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Therapy. Mabel M. Wilson Archbold Scholarship — Provides scholarships to Norwell High School graduates pursuing baccalaureate and/or post baccalaureate degrees in a professional field. Vance and Marie Wilson Memorial Nursing Scholarship — Provides scholarships to residents of Wells County or those who are employed at a healthcare facility within Wells County and have been accepted into or enrolled in an accredited Basic RN Program (2-4 year) and have completed a minimum of one semester in the nursing program.
