Volunteer of the Year-Mike Carter

The Wells County Foundation was privileged to name Mike Carter the 2022 Volunteer of the Year recipient at a luncheon on Thursday, November 17th. Mike has been a teacher at Southern Wells Elementary for 38 years, was deeply involved in the restoration of Five Points School, and over the last 20 years he and his students have raised over $180,000 for the American Heart Association. By being named the Volunteer of the Year by the Foundation, Mike was able to choose an area non-profit to receive an unrestricted grant in the amount of $1,000. Vicki Bell was pleased to accept that check on behalf of Mike’s choice, The Wells County Boys and Girls Club.
