Services We Provide

Neuter/Spay Assistance

The Wells County Neuter/Spay Assistance Fund provides financial assistance for eligible Wells County residents to have their dogs and/or cats spayed or neutered.

ELIGIBILITY:
Yorkshire Terrier at the Vet

1. Pet owner residing in Wells County, Indiana

2. Enrolled in one or more of the following public assistance programs:

  1. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF);

  2. Medicaid;

  3. Medicaid Disability;

  4. Food Stamps;

  5. Community & Family Services assistance programs;

  6. Medicare (this program is to include the senior citizen population); or

  7. Individuals with annual incomes up to $12,000 may qualify; couples with annual incomes up to $17,000 may qualify; a family of four with an annual income of $26,000 may qualify.

Application process:
  1. Vouchers are distributed at the Foundation office: 222 W. Market Street in Bluffton 

  2. Participants shall be required to make a $20 co-payment (cash or money order) at the time the voucher is distributed.  The $20 will be placed in the Wells County Neuter/Spay Assistance Fund;

  3. One voucher per recipient/per year will be permitted;

  4. Vouchers cover up to $250 for spaying or neutering your dog or cat, including any basic shots the vet requires for surgery. If the total cost is over $250, or if there are additional charges not related to the spay/neuter, the pet owner is responsible for those fees.

  5. Vouchers will have a 30-day expiration date.

IMPORTANT:  Please inform the veterinary office at the time you make the appointment that you are using a Foundation voucher.   We recommend that you discuss charges that you may incur beyond the sterilization and vaccinations with the veterinary clinic while scheduling your appointment.

Wells To Riley fund
Doctor High Five

The Wells to Riley Fund was established as a component fund of the Children’s Catastrophic Fund in 1998 and became a separate fund in 1999. 

 

The fund provides (for Wells County residents only) a voucher, to be redeemed at Riley Children’s Hospital,  705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, for  assistance with travel, lodging and related expenses incurred while receiving treatment at Riley Memorial Hospital.

Vouchers are redeemable for up to $100 per visit.  Eligible recipients may obtain vouchers during regular business hours from the Foundation office at 222 W. Market Street in Bluffton.  Funding is limited to $500 per family, per year.
