The Wells County Foundation, Inc. recently received funds through Wells County’s Opioid Settlement. The program will provide funding for

transportation related expenses for Wells County residents participating in recovery related expenses

Wells County residents participating in recovery related activities, events or appointments, and direct recovery expenses such as therapy, substance abuse treatment and counseling.​

individuals with out-of-pocket expenses related to outpatient therapy, outpatient substance abuse treatment and counseling.​
Program Guidelines:
Transportation Assistance:
This program is intended to assist individuals in recovery with transportation-related expenses for participating in recovery activities, events or appointments.
Transportation assistance will be provided by Wells on Wheels (WOW) through punch cards. The Foundation will distribute WOW punch cards (upon request) to local providers, and the punch cards will also be available at the Foundation office.
Treatment Payment Assistance:
This program is intended to assist individuals with out-of-pocket expenses related to outpatient therapy, outpatient substance abuse treatment and counseling.
Assistance will be distributed through an application process. Applications will be available through local providers, at the Foundation office, or by clicking the link below. Application will be accepted on a rolling basis. Individuals may apply for up to $2,500 per application and may reapply for additional assistance if needed. Notification of assistance will be made via a letter issued to the individual.
Payment for this assistance will be made directly to the provider.
