Scholarship Recipient graduates and returns to Wells County

To the Wells County Community Foundation,

Attention; The Sellers Family Memorial Scholarship

On June 21, 2021, I received one of the greatest blessings of my life, being awarded the

Sellers Family Memorial Scholarship. I still remember the emotions of that day, the overwhelming joy and the weight that was lifted off my shoulders. With this scholarship, not only did it cover the cost for me to continue my education, but it blessed me and my family in many more ways.

The decision to pursue my masters to become a school administrator, was a hard decision. I had the desire to serve my community, but l had a concern on the financial strain that it would place on my family. In fact, my wife and l discussed that we might not be able to afford growing our family, as the cost of having a baby was similar to that of earning my masters. The Sellers Family Memorial Scholarship provided us the liberation and the financial freedom for us to do both.

Throughout my master's program, it was never lost on me the generosity of the Sellers

Family and the Wells County Foundation. For me, it created a sense of accountability, as I did not want to waste the generosity. I wanted to earn it, to prove that the Sellers Family and the Foundation made the right decision. I am proud to say that this summer, I completed my master's degree, graduating from Ball State with a degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision. Not only that, but I completed my masters and maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA.

While the summer of 2021 was exciting, the summer of 2022 proved to be the culminating

event. In June, I was hired at Norwell Middle School, serving as their assistant principal and athletic director. On June 17th my wife and I welcomed a healthy and beautiful daughter into the world. On July 23rd, I graduated with my master's degree. The new job, the birth of our daughter, and graduating was only made possible by the generosity and support of the Foundation.

With your generosity, I am now perfectly positioned to be able to give back to our

community, to faithfully serve the students, teachers, and parents of Wells County for years to come. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I promise that I will continue to work hard, to give back, always trying to earn this remarkable opportunity that was given to me.

With tremendous gratitude,

Joel Reinhard
